Hair bleaching is a chemical process that lightens hair by stripping out its natural pigment, called melanin. This is achieved using a bleaching agent, typically a combination of an alkaline agent and an oxidizing agent like hydrogen peroxide, which opens the hair’s cuticle and dissolves the melanin.
